Collectors have embraced the Royal Australian Mint's kangaroo coins and they will be excited to see the tradition continuing with the latest release in the series. Designer Wojciech Pietranik has skilfully created a moving and patriotic image of a bounding kangaroo with a joey peeking out of her pouch. Mintage is limited to 12,500 coins.

Minted in proof quality and in silver, the collector coin for the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics portrays H.M. King Juan Carlos I on the obverse, while the reverse features a skier during the slalom descent.
