On February 23, 1909, on a frozen lake in Nova Scotia, a silver-winged "aerodrome" amazed onlookers as it flew 0.8 km (0.5 mi) to complete the first airplane flight in Canada. Designed and built by the Aerial Experiment Association under Alexander Graham Bell, the Silver Dart flew 50 times before being destroyed during military trials; around the world the potential value of flight in war was fast being discovered.

Through out history there have been millions of coins minted, each having its own history. The width and dept of a coin collecting is endless, which makes this hobby even more exciting. There is always a new coin to discover.

Determining the value of coins can be a laborious task. The easiest way to check on the value of a coin is going to a coin dealer. Trained in this field, he or she will be able to tell you the approximate value and if it is genuine or not. If you have located a coin or have been given a coin through inheritance, they should be able to help you locate a buyer or advise you on how to preserve it or located a set to make it for valuable for you.

If there is not a local coin dealer, visiting the local book bookstore should shed some light on the actual value and if your coin is good find. The internet also should have much up to date information. Just make sure that you have a reputable website that you read from.

Many forums and websites proclaim themselves as "gurus", when it comes to collecting coins so be aware when it comes to this.

Another helpful tool is ebay. When you are searching for the actual real world value of a coin, this auction house is a wonderful tool to let you on the inside and see what buyers are paying for coins like yours. If you cannot find your specific coin, then try to visit a local auction or locate one in a nearby city. Don't deprive yourself of this research, it can be invaluable to your investment and return, whether you are buying or selling coins.

It is important to remain knowledge and informed an up to date on everything that you endeavor, knowledge is power and this power will hopefully keep you safe from making mistakes that could cost you a lot of money in the long run. So whether you are search for silver eagle coins on ebay or trying to find the latest trend in your buyers, stay informed and read from a variety of different sources to keep your knowledge well rounded.
